Deer Valley is consistently ranked among the top ski resorts in North America, known for immaculate grooming, attentive service, and a skiers-only policy. The resort caps daily ticket sales to maintain a premium experience.
Best Time to Visit
Peak Powder Season (January – February)
Consistent snowfall and manageable weekday crowds. Mid-January through February is the sweet spot. Sundance Film Festival in late January brings an influx to the Park City area.
Spring Skiing (March)
Excellent groomers, warm sun, and the legendary Mid-Mountain Restaurant deck. Great value compared to peak January rates.
Getting There: Nearest Airports
- Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) — ~45 minutes via I-80 East and SR-224. Check road conditions through Parley's Canyon in storms.
Car Rental vs. Shuttle/Transit
Canyon Transportation and hotel concierge services run SLC-to-Deer-Valley shuttles ($40-70/person). Free Park City Transit buses and Deer Valley's own shuttles cover most in-resort needs. A car is optional for a Deer Valley-only trip but useful for skiing other Utah resorts.
