Stratton Ski Guide: Main Base or Sun Bowl—and Which Lift Next?

Choose Stratton’s Main Base when your day centres on the Village and booked services. Consider Sun Bowl when its access, services and open terrain fit your plan. Confirm the return before treating the two bases as interchangeable.

What Sun Bowl changes

Stratton lists Sun Bowl Lodge as a separate lodge location, and its park page places Big Ben boardercross in the Sun Bowl. That can make Sun Bowl a relevant objective, but it does not establish that a learner’s lesson or every rental service starts there.

  • Read the booking email for the meeting point rather than choosing parking from a resort-wide map alone.
  • Locate the first suitable descent and the return to that base.
  • If visiting the other base, confirm the connecting route or available transport before leaving.
  • Agree on a fallback meeting point if a lift or connection closes.

End the day where you intended

Leave enough time to return while the needed connections remain available. A convenient lunch stop at another base is not necessarily a convenient finish for a car parked elsewhere. Check current parking and winter transport guidance; old pre-arrival pages can contain summer information too.
